Corporate Branding

Lobo y Luna

Goal

The goal of this project was to conceptualize and brand a fictitious company based on the Spanish word Lobo (wolf).

Process

My process for this project began with a detailed mind-map to word associations of nocturnal, hunter, pack, wild, strength, and belonging. With that in mind, I decided to create a craft bourbon distillery for this branding project. Initial logo sketches were heavily non-abstracted variations of wolf imagery intended to appeal to male bourbon drinkers between 30 and 50 years old.

Role

Research, logo design, branding, packaging design, editorial design, web design

The most challenging aspect of the logo design was selecting the font and deciding on the lockup. I wanted something strong and masculine with a slight air of old western Americana.

I settled on the golden earth tone as an accent to the black and white color palette to achieve the desired feel. The color palate conveys warmth, serenity, quality, strength, and sensuality, all words synonymous with the smooth spiciness of good bourbon.

I selected black for the liquor bottles to have a bold, masculine feel. The vertical label adds a unique element to the bottle, designed to draw the customer’s eye.

The website concept was designed to be simple, clean, and bold in keeping with the overall feel of the company. Each rendition of the website displays the ‘Call of the Wild’ advertisement campaign for Lobo y Luna Bourbon.

The website and print campaign concepts were designed for simplicity, clean lines, and a bold aesthetic to keep with the overall feel of the company’s marketing plan.

This 3 x 5-inch brochure provides a brief background of this craft bourbon distillery and contains bourbon drink recipes. Its compact size makes it ideal as a handout with the purchase of a bourbon bottle, or as ephemera at a trade show.
