Hello!

My favorite part of a design project comes right at the very beginning. I love research, developing an understanding of the requirements and problems, and rolling them around in my mind until I see them from every angle. To me, this phase looks like a mind map, a mood board, 200 sketches in a notebook, or staring at the ceiling at two in the morning picking out designs in the shadows until I have found a starting point or two or four and move forward with roughs, comps, and creative decisions that ultimately lead to design solutions. I love puzzles and I relish solving them. A decade in the military taught me the value of checklists and logical approaches to complex issues and combining those skills with my creative nature gives me a unique design perspective.

Each piece chosen for my portfolio represents my unique approach to design and was specifically selected to demonstrate my breadth of knowledge and skill in design. As you will see, I am especially drawn to editorial design and corporate branding. I appreciate the tangible nature of print and the logical nature and functionality of design in the corporate world. My portfolio is a visual representation of my desire to turn design puzzles into beautifully conceptualized visual solutions.
